The Warrior from the Welsh Valleys
A lean and confident Joe Calzaghe today promised to deliver the performance of a life time against Mikkel Kessler on November 3 at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.
And while WBO super-middleweight champion Calzaghe predicted he would be in for one of his hardest ever nights against his WBA/WBC counterpart, the man who knows him best insisted he could defeat the Dane inside six rounds.
"This fight is what it's all about, it will bring out the warrior in me," said Calzaghe today at a press conference organised by Setanta Sports to help promote a show they will be screening in 10 days time.
"I want to fight the best, and prove that I am the best ever super-middleweight.

Words of a Champion
"I'll fight Kessler any way he wants," said 35-year-old Calzaghe as the war of words between the two champions reached new levels.
"I've never taken a backward step in the ring, and I don't plan on starting now.
"I'll out box Kessler like I did against Jeff Lacy, I'll out fight him and I'll out punch him like I did against Byron Mitchell.
"Suggesting that I won't stand toe to toe with him is absolute rubbish.
"He can have the fight in a phone booth if he wants because I'm going to be in his face from start to finish.
"I'm quite happy to give him an all out war if he wants one.
"Mitchell and Charles Brewer tried to fight it out with me and they ended up getting a beating.
"And when Lacy came at me I kicked his ass for twelve rounds.
"Kessler had better watch out because there's nothing I like more than a bit of needle. He's a dangerous opponent, but when I smell danger my fighting instincts kick in."

10 Years Un-Defeated
Joe Calzaghe celebrates a Decade of Dominance today, the 10th anniversary of his famous victory over British great Chris Eubank to win the WBO World Super-Middleweight title.
The undefeated Welshman has made 20 successful defences of his belt in that time and also added the IBF crown to his illustrious record.
He will certainly go down as one of the all-time greats to come out of this country.
Now 35 and boasting a perfect 43-0 record, Calzaghe will aim to again unify the 168lb division on November 3 when he tackles WBC and WBA champion Mikkel Kessler at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff televised live and exclusive on Setanta Sports.
When Calzaghe beat Eubank, Britain's two big world champions at the time were Naseem Hamed and Lennox Lewis, both have long since retired, but Calzaghe is still there at the top.
